The EU-funded frontierCities 2 Accelerator launches a new Call for Proposals for Start-Ups and SMEs in the Smart Cities sector!

frontierCities2 has launched on 29th November 2017 the 2nd Open Call for its Market Acceleration Grants “MAG2”.

frontierCities 2 is offering up to € 75,000 equity free funding for start-ups and SMEs with already developed FIWARE-powered solutions/applications in the Smart Cities Sector. Selected Start-ups & SMEs will have the opportunity to receive tailored technical and commercial support to succeed in their Market take-up phase!

About the frontierCities 2 Accelerator

frontierCities2 represents a quantum leap in the scope, ambition and service in the Acceleration & Incubation of European Start-ups and SMEs using  FIWARE Technology!

frontierCities2 builds on the powerful basis of the first edition of the frontierCities Accelerator (2014-2016), which created an exceptional geographical reach including 28 SMEs and start-ups who developed and trialled 28 smart mobility solutions in 45+ city environments across Europe!

Who can apply to MAG2? – Key Eligibility Criteria

 1.       MAG2 Grants are dedicated only to powered by FIWARE applications for the Smart Cities domain, already developed during earlier EU FI-PPP programmes (Phase 1 and 2) or during the FI-PPP Phase 3 - A16 acceleration programme.

 2.       Applicants must be start-ups or SMEs established in a EU Member State or H2020 Associated Country.

 3.       Applicants must prove that their powered by FIWARE Application has been piloted in real life environment, with a relevant number of users in collaboration with a city and/or corporate/industrial partner and/or other institutional entity and for a reasonable period of time (Simulations are not accepted).

Programme Jeunes Enseignants-Chercheurs, date limite 31 Mai 2017

Le Ministère de l'Enseignement Supérieur et de la Recherche Scientifique annonce le lancement de la première édition du programme Jeunes Enseignants-Chercheurs portant le nom du martyr de la révolution "Dr Hatem Bettahar".

Le programme Jeunes Enseignants-Chercheurs est un fonds compétitif de financement des activités de recherche et d’innovation, orienté vers les jeunes universitaires en début de leurs carrières professionnelles, destiné à promouvoir leurs capacités au montage et à la bonne gestion des projets, à les inciter à atteindre l'excellence scientifique et à les encourager à s'engager davantage dans les priorités nationales et régionales de la recherche scientifique.

Ce programme constitue également un levier permettant aux jeunes enseignants-chercheurs d'acquérir les compétences et l'expérience requises pour pouvoir participer aux appels d'offres internationaux dans le cadre du programme de l'Union Européenne pour le financement de la recherche et l'innovation Horizon 2020 auquel la Tunisie est associée.

La participation à ce programme compétitif est ouverte aux maîtres-assistants de l'enseignement supérieur ou grades équivalents et qui ont moins de 42 ans à la date de la soumission de la proposition de projet.

Les projets sont évalués par une commission d'experts avec pour principaux critères d’appréciation : la qualité scientifique du projet, son impact socio-économique, la méthodologie suivie et les capacités du porteur de projet pour la bonne exécution des activités de recherche. Les projets retenus sont financés pour une période d'une année renouvelable une seule fois après validation du rapport d'avancement de la première année.

Il est important de noter que le porteur du projet doit accomplir l'essentiel des travaux de recherche dans son établissement d'affiliation sur lequel seront portés les crédits alloués. La seule manière de participer au programme JEC est de s’inscrire en ligne :

Lessons learnt from water projects of international cooperation and synchronisation with funding agencies

As part of the BeWater project, Europe for Business Ltd is organising a concertation workshop entitled ‘Lessons learnt from water projects of international cooperation and synchronisation with funding agencies’. The workshop will be held on 1-2 March 2017 in Brussels, Belgium. The 5TOI_4EWAS project will take part to share their experience and knowledge.

The main objectives of the workshop are to bring together and enhance dialogue between the coordinators of international cooperation (projects) and the owners of funding programmes (national and regional agencies) and to stimulate the national and regional funding agencies to share experiences and practices in order to facilitate the emergence of common positions and encourage the synchronisation of support instruments to international cooperation in climate change research.
